Fluting When Star Falls

Description

"When the Qiang flute echoes, can you perceive its call?"
This piece is inspired by the folk dances of the Qiang ethnic group, drawing its essence from the devastating 2008 Wenchuan earthquake in Sichuan. Amidst the sorrow of families torn apart and lives lost, the sound of the Qiang flute transforms into a solitary longing and a call to loved ones. They are akin to stars, glistening within reach — if one summons through the flute, might the stars descend?
